During my Italian road trip in 2015, due to the lack of time, I didn’t walk around the whole city of Firenze, I didn’t get to see the Tower of Pisa and I had quickly gone through the Cinque Terre within a day.
As you can see from the video, I had done a lot already however, it was obvious I wanted to do more. Since my Thai friend Sang asked me to join her on a long weekend trip to Pisa and Firenze this summer, I just scratched off certain things I wanted to do last time:
- I went for a swim and laid down the sands on the beach at Monterosso
- I hiked down the mountain from Volastra all the way to Manarola while enjoying the view of all the vineyards
- I walked down the Lardarina (nearly 400 steps) in Corniglia
- I saw the Tower of Pisa
- I went to see the Ponte Vecchio in Firenze
The only 2 things I didn’t get to do are the “Lovers Walk” as it was closed halfway from Manarola to Riomaggiore and cliff jump into the Mediterranean in Riomaggiore. But then again, let’s be honest, there’s no need for excuses to go back to the Italian riviera, it’ll always be breathtaking going back there.
